The median estimate of 18 economists in a Bloomberg survey showed that China’s economy expanded at about 10.1 percent in 2010 and the expansion will slow to 9 percent this year which is three times the rate of the U.S. and six times the speed of the euro zone. The pressure from world business and political leaders, requesting China to “rescue” the global economy has intensified and is to continue this year. There has been serious pressure to persuade China to re-evaluate Chinese Yuan that Washington hopes China will effectively give its consumers more money to buy imports. White House spokesman Robert Gibbs acclaimed Chinese President Hu Jintao’s planned visit to the White House later this month. President Barack Obama will bring up global economic issues and China's currency exchange rate during his upcoming meetings in Washington with Hu.”

Although surging growth has helped transform China into an economic powerhouse, a worsening of Europe’s crisis and environmental problem may cause major problems for China. The source of China's foreign debt problem dates back to the collapse of the global economy in 2008, Chinese government unleashed a flood of cash to stimulate the economy of its foreign partners. Much of that money was loans from state-owned banks to local governments, which were supposed to be spent on new roads, railways, power plants and other projects to help China maintain its torrid pace of economic growth.

As the spending power of Chinese consumers increasingly grows, China’s environmental problems may get worse. Environmentalist Elizabeth C. Economy alleged that environment deterioration and economy system that environmental degradation associated changes in the economic system: the decentralization to the local economy, opening up to private enterprise portal development, inviting the international community to participate in China's development, making central government's ability to control declined significantly.  Environmental journalist Jonathan Watts from "Guardian" asserts that China is in a position either to accept the disaster or face rapid change. The voice of environmentalists is to push the change of environmental policy in China.
